Job summary

Bunnell-Lammons Engineering (BLE) seeks a Department Manager for Environmental Due Diligence and Compliance to lead a senior team, oversee Phase I/II ESAs, and manage client engagements across commercial, industrial, and public sectors.

The role requires deep regulatory knowledge, strong leadership, and proven ability to deliver defensible reports while managing budgets and business growth. Collaborative with leadership and counsel, staffing and training are key responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or related technical discipline required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in geotechnical and/or environmental consulting with leadership and project management.
• 3+ years of team leadership or management experience in a consulting or corporate environment.
• Professional registration (PE, PG, CHMM, or similar) strongly preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations (CERCLA, RCRA, CWA, CAA, EPCRA).
• Strong project management, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Environmental Services Department focusing on due diligence and compliance service lines.
• Supervise and mentor a team of environmental professionals across multiple projects.
• Oversee workload allocation, training, performance reviews, and hiring.
• Promote technical excellence and professional development.
• Ensure timely delivery of accurate, defensible reports to clients and attorneys.
• Oversee preparation of permits, plans, and reports; stay current on regulatory requirements.
