Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an Environmental Science internship in North Carolina for a 10–12 week summer period. You will support data analysis, bottle preparations, and field sampling while reporting environmental data to the Environmental, Health, and Safety teams.

Travel to project sites may be required, with a 40-hour work week during the internship. The role emphasizes collaboration, lab procedures, and a strong interest in the energy industry and environmental management.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Biology, Chemistry, Natural Sciences, Ecology, or a closely related field.
• Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
• Must not graduate prior to August 2027.
• Proficiency in data analysis, environmental monitoring techniques, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Support data analysis and bottle preparations.
• Interpret and report environmental data accurately.
• Work on environmental governance and compliance projects.
• Collaborate with teams within the Environmental, Health, and Safety Department.
• Assist team staff with lab procedures supporting Duke Energy facilities and properties in the Carolinas.
• Assist with equipment maintenance, bottle preparations, and sampling duties.
• Conduct fieldwork and potentially travel to project sites.
• Work a 40-hour week during a 10-12-week summer internship/co-op session.
