Job summary

Duke Energy offers an Environmental Services Internship to gain hands-on experience in environmental monitoring, fieldwork, and compliance within the EHS framework. You will support monitoring, sampling, and data analysis while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

The program emphasizes mentorship, professional development, and exposure to environmental governance and regulatory practices in the energy sector.

Qualifications

Proficiency in data analysis, environmental monitoring techniques, and basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite).
Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with diverse teams to achieve common goals.
Strong organizational and time management skills to manage tasks efficiently and accurately.
Willingness and ability to conduct fieldwork, sometimes under varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

Water quality monitoring near Duke Energy properties with regulatory compliance.
Field support: equipment maintenance, sample collection, and surveys.
Data analysis and bottle preparations for reporting of environmental data.
Work on projects related to environmental governance and compliance.
Collaborate with Environmental, Health, and Safety teams.
