DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Environmental Compliance Specialist to join our team in Columbus, IN.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Technical Expertise : Apply your deep technical knowledge to complex components and projects, ensuring regulatory compliance and program success.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration : Act as a key contributor, driving cross-functional project success and fostering collaboration among various stakeholders.

  • Environmental Compliance : Analyze and communicate critical information related to environmental compliance to internal stakeholders, enhancing overall awareness and adherence.

  • Training and Facilitation : Identify, establish, and facilitate meetings and training sessions on compliance, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Project Leadership : Lead small projects or portions of larger projects, ensuring timely and effective execution.

  • Process Improvement : Collaborate with subject matter experts to improve environmental performance and compliance processes, identifying opportunities for common processes and tools.

  • Knowledge Transfer : Mentor and coach less experienced compliance personnel, assisting with knowledge transfer and professional development.

  • Problem Solving and Innovation : Troubleshoot complex problems, propose innovative initiatives, and drive resolution to compliance issues, providing technical direction and influencing key stakeholders.

  • Environmental Regulatory Compliance - Champions compliance with environmental regulatory requirements imposed on industry by local, state, provincial, national, and international organizations including air emissions, waste water discharges, natural resource consumption, waste generation, spill prevention and reporting, and emergency response.

  • Environmental Standards and Regulations - Analyzes technical and legal documents, enabling interpretation and further communication of content resulting in clear definition of requirements to the business; works in conjunction with subject matter experts and business units to develop strategies and plans for meeting requirements; information to be shared broadly with cross functional groups within Cummins.

  • Values differences - Recognizing the value that different perspectives and cultures bring to an organization.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or related technical or scientific field required.

Experience:

  • Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.

  • Experience across organizations and global regions preferred.

  • Knowledge of the function being worked in preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Responsibilities:

Support EBU and Corporate 2030 & 2050 environmental initiatives. Engage in development and execution of meaningful training and events to support the ethos of CMEP continuous improvement.

Work with other EBU sites to ensure progress on environmental activites.

Support the internal opportunities to help develop others in the plant with leadership and technical knowledge.

This is an onsite role located at CMEP
