Job summary

MTA Bridges and Tunnels is seeking an Assistant Director, Environmental Programs to lead environmental compliance across TBTA facilities, reporting to the Vice President of Environmental Compliance. You will coordinate programs, ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, and support training, audits, and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Management or related field.
• Minimum 8 years in environmental compliance within complex operations.
• At least 4 years overseeing multi-site environmental programs and regulatory reporting.
• Experience with EMS and regulatory audits; incident investigations experience.
• Strong communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate site environmental risk assessments to identify impacts and mitigation actions.
• Ensure compliance activities meet federal, state, and local requirements and TBTA policies.
• Coordinate SAEA reports and oversee PBS compliance monitoring programs.
• Oversee hazardous materials handling, storage, and disposal to regulatory standards.
• Monitor contractor and vendor compliance with environmental requirements.
• Serve as a technical resource guiding site personnel, contractors, and regulators.
• Support development and improvement of site-level environmental procedures and controls.
• Lead environmental training and awareness programs across operations.
