Job summary

Shenandoah Hospitality in Shenandoah National Park is seeking an Environmental Manager to oversee the environmental program, ensuring compliance with government contracts and coordinating ISO audits for site certifications.

The role reports to the Director of Risk & Safety within the Operations department, is full-time and year-round, with an anticipated start date of 1/4/2027, and is based on-site in the park.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science or related field.
• 3+ years in environmental protection and/or research.
• Resort/National Park experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understand requirements of environmental contract commitments and ensure compliance.
• Communicate with General Manager and Director of Risk & Safety on status of environmental program and audits.
• Drive and manage internal and external audits as required.
• Train site teams on environmental and safety commitments.
• Assist in preparing, implementing and maintaining the environmental project plan.
• Maintain documents and records per the company’s processes and procedures.
• Coordinate environmental operations to ensure permit renewals and regulatory compliance.
• Lead program onsite for reducing environmental damage and waste at all sites.
• Promote a safe work environment by following all safety procedures.
• Understand Company ISO (Environmental & Quality) management systems, policies, goals, and initiatives and meet the responsibilities within these areas.
• Other duties as requested.
