SK Battery America, Inc. is seeking a proactive Environmental Engineer to support compliance and sustainability across our lithium-ion battery manufacturing sites in the United States.

Qualifications

• BS in environmental engineering or related; MS preferred.
• 2-5+ years in environmental engineering or compliance; manufacturing/chemical EV battery industry preferred.
• Familiarity with lithium-ion battery production processes and environmental risks a plus.
• Strong knowledge of Title V air permitting, wastewater treatment, hazardous waste (RCRA), SPCC, SWPPP.
• Hands-on with environmental control equipment (pH meters, samplers, scrubbers, activated carbon units).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with environmental management software is a plus.
• Able to wear PPE and lift up to 50 lbs; able to walk and be mobile for long periods; work in extreme weather.
• Excellent organizational, communications, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional, cross-cultural teams; strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support environmental permitting activities (Title V Air, NPDES wastewater, stormwater, SPCC, SWPPP).
• Maintain records for inspections, monitoring, reporting, and compliance certifications.
• Assist with agency correspondence, audits, inspections (EPA, GA EPD, Local authorities).
• Track and report emissions inventories; perform AP-42 calculations; support stack testing.
• Manage wastewater sampling, treatment system monitoring, and DMR reporting.
• Support lithium-ion battery recycling, reuse, and proper disposal practices.
• Prepare environmental reports (Tier II, TRI, Biennial, HWM, DMR, GHG).
• Utilize Velocity, Enablon, SAP for data tracking and analysis; develop dashboards for KPIs.
• Collaborate with engineering on new equipment installation and process modifications to assess environmental impacts.
• Cooperate with contractors and external stakeholders to resolve environmental matters.
