Job summary

Sunlight Batteries USA is seeking a Senior EHS Specialist to lead environmental, health, and safety programs at our lead-acid battery manufacturing facility in Greensboro, NC. You will act as a subject-matter expert, drive regulatory compliance, oversee audits and investigations, and mentor teams to strengthen safety culture on the plant floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in EHS or related field; or equivalent combination.
• Five+ years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing or regulated environments.
• Advanced knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and environmental compliance.
• Experience leading investigations, audits, root-cause analyses, and corrective actions.
• Strong ability to develop and deliver technical safety training.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety initiatives and continuous improvement across the facility.
• Conduct safety audits, JHAs, risk assessments, and investigations.
• Coordinate chemical safety programs and hazardous materials handling.
• Coach supervisors and employees on safe work practices and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor metrics and report findings to leadership for data-driven actions.
