Job summary

American Battery Solutions Inc. is seeking a Senior Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to lead EHS programs at our Lake Orion, Michigan facility, driving safety culture and regulatory compliance.

The role serves as primary EHS contact, partnering with leadership to reduce risk and improve environmental performance. The successful candidate will manage ISO 14001 initiatives, conduct hazard assessments, maintain OSHA records, and lead safety training, incident investigations, and capital

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in EHS or related field; or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of five years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety.
• Experience with Lithium-ion batteries preferred.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
• Experience with NFPA 70E and electrical safety standards.
• Working knowledge of Safety, Environmental, and Quality Management systems including OHSAS 18001, ISO14001, TS16949.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and oversee facility compliance reporting including Tier II submissions.
• Lead ISO 14001 EMS strategic management, audits, and SOP development.
• Develop and implement EHS policies, training, and tools for safe operations.
• Oversee OSHA logs, medical records, and training records for accuracy.
• Drive site-wide EHS compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Analyze KPIs and report performance updates to leadership.
• Lead injury case management and ensure regulatory compliance and positive outcomes.
• Conduct risk assessments of operations and equipment with corrective actions.
