Job summary

Sunlight Batteries USA in Greensboro, NC seeks an experienced EHS Specialist to lead environmental, health, and safety programs on the lead-acid battery manufacturing floor. You will drive compliance, mentor leaders, and strengthen our safety culture with data-driven initiatives.

The role requires hands-on engagement, site audits, incident investigations, and training delivery for hazard communication, lockout/tagout, respiratory protection, and chemical safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing settings.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and environmental compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of EHS programs at the facility.
• Conduct safety audits, JHAs, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
• Develop and deliver safety training on hazard communication, LOTO, PPE, and chemical safety.
• Coach supervisors and employees on safe work practices and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate chemical safety, SDS management, and hazardous materials handling.
• Monitor KPIs and present data-driven recommendations to leadership.
• Support permits, regulatory reporting, and audit documentation.
• Lead emergency preparedness activities and facility drills.
