Job summary

BCI Minerals is seeking a Lead/Superintendent Environment for the Mardie Operation to drive environmental performance in partnership with site leadership and Perth-based teams. The role focuses on permitting, monitoring, compliance and continuous improvement of environmental programs, while mentoring the Senior Environment Advisor and Environmental Field Technician.

You will work to embed environmental considerations into day-to-day decision making and foster a proactive, high-performing culture

Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management or equivalent.
• Experience in mining operations at Superintendent level or equivalent.
• Experience working with construction and operations teams.
• Experience engaging regulators, Traditional Owners, communities and other external stakeholders to deliver integrated environmental outcomes.
• Ability to collect and analyse data to provide well-informed recommendations.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation (WA EPA, EPBC Act, Mining Act WA, Aboriginal Heritage Act WA).
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook & SharePoint).
• Knowledge of health, safety and environment management systems.
• Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience with people management experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee environmental permitting, monitoring, inspections and compliance activities across the Mardie Operation.
• Lead investigations into environmental incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Provide practical environmental advice across site and contribute to toolbox talks and reporting.
• Ensure environmental data, records and reporting systems are maintained to a high standard.
• Identify and manage environmental risks and opportunities and support rehabilitation planning.
• Contribute to budgeting and build relationships with regulators and contractors.
