Descripción del empleo

As the Lead/Superintendent Environment, you'll play a key leadership role at BCI Minerals' Mardie Operation, driving environmental performance across our Operation and ensuring we deliver outcomes safely, responsibly and in line with our environmental approvals and commitments.

Working closely with site leadership, Perth-based teams, contractors, regulators and consultants, you'll lead the implementation and continual improvement of environmental management systems, monitoring and compliance programs, regulatory commitments, rehabilitation and sustainability initiatives. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you'll help shape how environmental considerations are embedded into day-to-day decision-making, while playing a critical role in maintaining BCI's social licence to operate.

You’ll also lead and mentor the Senior Environment Advisor and Environmental Field Technician, building capability within the team and driving a proactive, high-performing environmental culture.

The Company

BCI Minerals is a values-driven company developing sustainable minerals for the modern world.

We are rapidly progressing the Mardie Salt Operation and Potash Project (Mardie Operation), a tier 1 solar evaporation project that will supply high-purity industrial salt and sulphate of potash (SOP) for more than 60 years.

Mardie will be the largest salt operation in Australia and the third largest globally. With first salt on ship on track to be achieved early 2027, BCI Minerals is just at the beginning of its journey to become a key player in a multitude of globally significant sustainable opportunities.

Our values are the foundation of our success. They reflect our commitment to fostering an inclusive, high-performing culture driven by our people's collective efforts and unique strengths. They guide us in achieving our strategic goals and solidify our position as a leader in the industry.

The Role

The Lead/Superintendent Environment will work closely with BCI's Operations, Projects and contractors to ensure environmental requirements, approvals and obligations are consistently met across the Mardie Operation. You'll oversee environmental permitting, monitoring, inspections and compliance activities, support field surveys and studies, and lead investigations into environmental incidents, including reporting and corrective actions. You'll also provide practical environmental advice across site, contribute to toolbox talks and reporting, and ensure environmental data, records and reporting systems are maintained to a high standard.

The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying and managing environmental risks and opportunities, supporting rehabilitation planning and implementation, and continually improving environmental processes, procedures and performance. The role will also contribute to environmental budgeting and build strong relationships with internal teams, regulators, contractors and other external stakeholders to effectively manage complex environmental matters and drive positive environmental outcomes across Mardie.

About You:

The successful candidate will have:

  • A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management or equivalent.
  • Experience in mining operations at Superintendent level, or equivalent.
  • Experience working proactively with construction and operations teams.
  • Experience engaging with regulators, Traditional Owners, communities and other external stakeholders to deliver integrated environmental outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to collect and analyse data and other information to provide well informed recommendations and guidance to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in relevant legislation, including the Environmental Protection Act (1986) WA, the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act (1999) Commonwealth, Mining Act (1978) WA, and the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972 (WA)
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook & SharePoint).
  • Knowledge of health, safety and environment management systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, or mentoring with an understanding of people management and the employee lifecycle.

The successful candidate will be required to provide a national police clearance that is not older than 6 months & must hold a WA White Card.

You must have current unrestricted working rights for Australia to be eligible for consideration.
