Role Overview

The EH&S Manager monitors established safety programs within all manufacturing facilities. The role guides the implementation of procedures and programs to minimize environmental health and safety risks in the workplace to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements, including OSHA, ISO 14001, and EPA.

What You Will Do For UGN
Safety and Health
  • Reinforce proactive prevention-oriented policies and programs to ensure the safety and health of our team members.
  • Support HR Managers regarding OSHA complaint responses and onsite OSHA visits.
  • Ensure safety precautions are in place during new program setups, retooling, etc., as directed by the EHS Director.
  • Partner with manufacturing, HR, and Learning & Development to enhance safety culture.
  • Conduct regular manufacturing facility visits to ensure safety practices are followed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety practices and provide resources to achieve this.
  • Develop, implement, and manage EH&S policies, programs, and practices.
  • Maintain the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) archive and communicate chemical hazards and PPE requirements.
  • Audit Job Safety Analysis.
  • Support safety committees with corporate direction.
  • Assist in accident/incident investigations and follow-up actions.
  • Partner on the company’s LOTO safety compliance program and assist plant personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Environmental
  • Manage environmental project activities as assigned.
  • Ensure proper licensing and permits are obtained and maintained.
  • Review environmental risks with manufacturing facilities.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Ensure timely filing of environmental reports.
  • Stay informed of current and upcoming environmental regulations.
  • Support ISO14001 certification efforts.
Qualifications
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in safety or engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 3-5+ years of safety-specific experience or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations.
  • Experience with LOTO practices in manufacturing settings.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of personnel.
  • Technical documentation interpretation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Safety training certificates preferred (OSHA 10, OSHA 30).
  • Ability to travel up to 30%.
