Environmental Health & Safety Manager

Central Contractors Service, Inc.

Location: Alsip, IL - 60803

Central Contractors Service is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager with experience in safety management within the crane and rigging industry. The role focuses on commercial construction, petrochemical, steel, wind farm, and heavy industry environments. The successful candidate must be able to work independently on multiple matters in a fast-paced environment. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of related experience in the crane and rigging industry, OSHA 30 card, OSHA 500 credential, among others. This is a full-time, exempt position with a comprehensive benefits package.

Essential Functions

1. Maintain knowledge of relevant crane and rigging codes, standards, and regulations.
2. Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards at branch locations and large work sites.
3. Follow corporate policies to ensure compliance with all regulations.
4. Conduct safety inspections and assessments, recommend corrective actions, and prepare reports for review.
5. Review injury/accident reports, identify causal factors, and develop corrective actions, including site-specific Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
6. Conduct safety meetings with management and employees.
7. Implement and communicate EHS policies and procedures.
8. Understand DOT compliance and maintain driver files.
9. Disseminate safety information regularly.
10. Engage in personal and professional development through training and seminars.
11. Maintain open communication with the corporate office.

Job Specifications/Experience/Education

• Bachelor’s Degree or 3+ years of related experience in crane/rigging/construction industries or heavy industry environments.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Valid Transportation Worker Card (TWIC) or ability to obtain one.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in accident investigation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
