Sedgwick is seeking an entry-level trainee for its workers’ compensation claims training program in Salt Lake City. The role starts with a four-week concept-based learning phase, followed by onboarding and hands-on claims work under mentorship.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred and 2 years of customer service experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Attend and complete the designated claims professional training program.
• Adjust various levels of workers’ compensation claims under supervision.
• Process and respond to mail, emails and other claim documents according to claim status.
• Communicate with injured workers, insureds/employers, medical providers, attorneys and carrier representatives via phone, video, and email.
• Investigate new and existing claims by gathering medical records, employer reports, and witness statements.
• Determine coverage, compensability and appropriate benefits per jurisdictional guidelines and carrier requirements.
• Document claims and code activity; prepare detailed reports of findings and recommendations.
• Administer indemnity and medical benefits while maintaining calendar items and deadlines.
• Participate in meetings and trainings for education, claim discussions and cross-functional work.
