Job summary

Southwire Company, LLC in Carrollton, GA is hiring for an entry level Take Up 1 role. You will rewind material to specified lengths, perform spark-testing, and strip insulation from copper and aluminum wire for processing at the Carrollton or Kentucky rod mills.

Shift C, pay rate $21.79–$23.18 per hour. Candidates should have a high school diploma, English fluency, and ability to lift up to 45 lbs. Benefits include 401k with match, health/dental/vision, paid time off, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must read, write, and speak English; bilingual in Spanish is a plus
• Must be able to stand and lift heavy loads for long periods of time
• Must be able to follow instructions
• Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Run a specified package length
• Responsible for proper spark-tester settings
• Responsible to tag and package product properly
• Responsible to produce a quality product according to specifications and visual check
• Possible painting of wire, print removal, or reprinting while rewinding
• Responsible to make a quality patch on defective material when needed
• Responsible to strip insulation off scrap wire
• Perform all other duties as assigned
