Job summary

American States Utility Services, Inc. seeks a Maintenance Technician to repair and maintain water and wastewater systems at military installations across the United States, including North Carolina. You will respond to alarms, perform preventive maintenance, and assist with CMMS/SCADA tasks.

Under supervision, you will operate tools, read gauges, and work on pumps, motors, and valves. On-call standby and overtime may be required to ensure reliable operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Electrical schooling/training preferred.
  • Ability to obtain State Maintenance Technician Level I Certification within 12 months.
  • Ability to obtain introductory water/wastewater certification within 12 months.
  • Ability to obtain minimum B CDL with tanker endorsement within 24 months.
  • Ability to obtain crane certification within 24 months.
  • Ability to obtain Backflow Certification within 36 months.

Responsibilities

  • Observe safety rules and procedures.
  • Operate hand and power tools for repair and maintenance.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on water/wastewater systems.
  • Monitor pumps, controllers and SCADA/Telemetry equipment.
  • Repair equipment including HVAC units, pumps, generators, and motors.
  • Maintain and repair valves, hydrants, and associated components.
  • Prepare operational memos and review daily logs.
  • Perform housekeeping and keep work areas clean.
