The San Antonio Water System is seeking an entry-level Control Center Operator I to monitor and operate pumping equipment for potable, recycled wastewater and lift stations. You will work under supervision to ensure pressure, quality and quantity targets are met, coordinating with responders and technicians as needed.

Responsibilities include evaluating system data, dispatching personnel, maintaining logs, and communicating effectively with internal and external contacts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year experience in groundwater, recycled, or distribution environment.
• TCEQ Class D Water Operator License within 6 months and Class C Groundwater Treatment License within 12 months.
• Ability to report to work on time and maintain good attendance.

Responsabilités

• Monitors system pressures, pump performance, hydrology, and customer demand to select pumping schemes.
• Identifies emergencies, communicates with responders and supervisors, and prioritizes actions.
• Receives potable water and reuse repair requests and assists decision making.
• Identifies equipment failures and initiates emergency and corrective work orders.
• Notifies technicians for needed repairs and dispatches personnel as needed.
• Maintains records, logs and equipment readiness coordination with shifts and projects.
• Informs other operators about ongoing problems and operational issues.
• Performs basic math calculations.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with staff and public.
