Job summary

Veolia North America is seeking a wastewater treatment facility operator to participate in operation, maintenance and repair of water and wastewater treatment facilities. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, regulatory licenses within 2.5 years, and a Michigan driver’s license.

You will monitor equipment, collect samples, run tests and maintain accurate records. The position involves responding to incidents, performing safety procedures, and providing support during regulatory

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Some Water and/or Wastewater experience preferred.
• Valid MI “S3” and “D3” Water License and/or Class “C” Wastewater License within 2.5 years of employment.
• Valid Michigan driver’s license required.
• Ability to communicate with all levels in a professional manner and read/write reports.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and operates wastewater treatment plant equipment such as pumps, valves, motors, blowers and chemical feed equipment; makes minor repairs; collects samples; runs tests; keeps records; adjusts chemical treatment as required.
• Participates in treatment processes, plant laboratory analyses and operation/maintenance of plant equipment.
• Ensures all plant records and reports are completed accurately and on time.
• Furnishes assistance to regulatory representatives inspecting the plant.
• Adjusts or alters chemical treatment of plant processes as required.
• Responds to and controls accidental releases of hazardous liquids and gases; performs confined space entries as required.
• Observes pump and motor operation; maintains daily logbook and data entries.
