Job summary

Seagate is seeking a Wafer Sustaining Engineer to join the Bloomington, MN facility on D Shift. This entry level position offers training across engineering disciplines and exposure to Physics, Chemistry and Materials Science.

You will work on photolithography, vacuum processing, metrology, and data analytics to resolve daily factory issues. You will collaborate with process technicians and engineers to improve manufacturing efficiency, with opportunities to develop in JMP, Excel, Power BI and

Qualifications

• BS degree in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• Entry level role with training across engineering disciplines including Physics, Chemistry and Materials Science.
• Exposure to Photolithography, Vacuum Processing, Plating Processing, Metrology, Yield/Quality Engineering, and Equipment Engineering.
• Proactive problem solving and data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily troubleshooting and evaluation of suspect wafers and processes.
• Collaborate with process technicians, engineers, maintenance, and operations to resolve factory and product issues.
• Ensure proper passdown and process documentation; report status of key factory issues.
• Conduct SPC monitoring of tools; investigate scrap root causes and address inhibitors.
• Provide training to technicians, trainers and operators in the manufacturing team.
• Review tool qualifications with equipment engineering.
• Leverage MS Teams channels for frontline communication, knowledge capture, and passdown.
