Job summary

Seagate Technology is seeking a Wafer Process Engineering Technician for our Normandale campus in Bloomington. You will support UTP production, RD processing, and wafer flow in a high-reliability environment, coordinating with Process, Sustaining, RD Engineering, Operations, Materials, and Maintenance.

In this role, you will independently troubleshoot, analyze tool logs, and apply structured problem-solving to complex manufacturing issues.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of technician/manufacturing experience.
• Strong understanding of thin-film wafer processing and related engineering principles.
• Independent troubleshooting across multiple manufacturing areas.
• Experience using tool log viewers, SPC platforms, dashboards, Excel, JMP, or Minitab.

Responsibilities

• Manage incoming and outgoing UTP production WIP and priorities; coordinate across RD Admins, Operations, Engineering, and Materials.
• Qualify GaAs wafers, review yield, rework, and transfer maps; ensure handling meets requirements.
• Analyze tool logs and SPC results to differentiate causes and determine next steps.
• Provide first-line troubleshooting for UTP processes, equipment, and alarms; escalate with evidence when needed.
