Center for Digital Governmtent in Maryland is seeking an entry-level Utilities Support Worker I to assist in the repair and maintenance of wastewater distribution and collection systems. This full-time, permanent, Safety Sensitive position involves manual labor, heavy equipment operation, and working in all weather conditions.

You'll learn to drive a dump truck with a trailer, operate a backhoe and front-end loader, and perform tests of sewer components under supervision.

Competenze

• Graduation from high school; six or more months experience in repair, maintenance and construction work.
• Ability to obtain Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tanker endorsement within six months.

Mansioni

• Perform manual labor in repair and maintenance of wastewater systems.
• Dig and backfill trenches, lay and connect sewer pipes, and install replacement pipes as instructed.
• Operate a dump truck, backhoe, front-end loader and other equipment under supervision.
• Test and repair gravity and pressure mains, grinder pumps and pumping stations.
• Work in all weather, in confined spaces, and respond to emergencies outside normal hours.
