Job summary

Department of Public Works Bureau of Utility Operations seeks an Emergency Response Technician to respond to emergency calls, diagnose water distribution or wastewater collection problems, and perform skilled repairs. You will document work, coordinate with teams, and maintain vehicles while working in all weather conditions.

The role requires a high school diploma and 4+ years in utility system maintenance, with CMMS experience and a valid Class C driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of wastewater collection and water distribution construction, operation, and maintenance.
• Requires basic mathematics and ability to use elementary computer skills.
• Ability to express technical matters in written and oral reports and complete work orders.

Responsibilities

• Responds to emergency service calls regarding water/wastewater issues.
• Troubleshoots and repairs infrastructure or refers problems for follow-up.
• Prepares daily operation logs, work orders, and inspections.
• Plans and schedules maintenance for assigned vehicles.
