Job summary

WHKS & Co in Rochester, MN is seeking an entry-level transportation engineer to support design of municipal and transportation infrastructure. You will work closely with a team of engineers to develop plans, calculations, and reports for roads, drainage, and related projects.

You'll develop 2-D and 3-D models using MicroStation/OpenRoads, participate in public information meetings, and grow with a flexible, collaborative firm that values fresh ideas and practical solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
• E.I. certification or FE exam planned within 6 months.
• 0–5 years of transportation design experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Strong oral and written communication; team-oriented.
• Experience with MicroStation, Geopak, or OpenRoads Designer desirable.
• Knowledge of MnDOT specifications is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design calculations, reports, and plans for transportation projects (roadways, intersections, bridges, drainage, etc.).
• Prepare design calculations, reports, and plans for municipal projects (water/ sewer, roadway resurfacing, drainage).
• Prepare design calculations, reports, and plans for site development (parking, subdivisions, parks).
• Develop 2-D and 3-D models using MicroStation and OpenRoads software.
• Assist with facilitating project-related public information meetings.
