Job summary

Horner & Shifrin, Inc. is seeking a full-time, entry-level Engineer to join our Transportation group in the St. Louis area.

The position requires 0–2 years of experience and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. You will work under a licensed engineer to develop PS&E and prepare 3D models for construction. Applicants should have strong written and verbal communication skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and knowledge of MicroStation or OpenRoads/Civil 3D is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• Entry-level position requiring 0–2 years of experience.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Knowledge of Civil 3D, MicroStation or OpenRoads is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of a licensed engineer, develop PS&E (plans, specs, estimates).
• Prepare quality 3D models for design and construction phases.
• Contribute to transportation engineering services for municipal, county and state clients.
• Assist in preparation of reports and feasibility studies.
• Complete assigned tasks within project timelines.
