Job summary

RMS Energy Co, LLC is seeking an entry-level Transformer Test Technician I to support transformer testing and maintenance across the United States. You will perform basic tests, troubleshoot, document results, and help prepare customer reports while collaborating with experienced technicians in real-world field settings.

This role requires reading technical procedures and wiring diagrams, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and a willingness to travel up to 80% across the continental U.S.

Qualifications

• 0–1 years of experience in transformer testing or transformer services.
• Ability to read and follow technical procedures and wiring diagrams.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office, online tools, and basic computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic transformer testing and troubleshooting (Megger, TTR, SFRA, Power Factor, Core Ground, etc.).
• Assist with testing alarms and system protection components.
• Support passivation and accessory testing procedures.
• Troubleshoot and repair control wiring in the field.
• Participate in OEM-, utility-, and customer‑directed testing procedures.
• Document test results and prepare customer‑ready reports with accuracy.
• Safely operate construction and industrial equipment within capacity guidelines.
• Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment in safe working condition.
• Follow strict safety and PPE usage protocols due to noise, electrical hazards, and elevated work areas.
