Job summary

Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. (VHB) seeks an Entry Level Traffic Engineer in its Wethersfield, CT office to join the Traffic Operations group.

You will collaborate with transportation planners and engineers on municipal, state, and higher education projects, gaining exposure across a broad market spectrum. You will contribute to traffic impact studies, signal timing plans, and design plans using AutoCAD or MicroStation, while building expertise in Synchro, Vissim, and HCS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 0-1 years of engineering experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is a plus.
• Experience with Synchro, Vissim, and/or HCS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work within a team of professionals in developing traffic and transportation planning and engineering solutions for various projects.
• Conduct traffic impact studies.
• Develop sign, pavement marking, and traffic signal design plans in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
• Develop traffic signal timing plans.
• Prepare written documents and assemble reports to convey findings and recommendations.
• Collect and tabulate traffic data.
• Perform intersection and corridor operational analyses using Synchro, SimTraffic, HCS, Sidra, Vissim, and other tools.
• Analyze, develop, and evaluate traffic improvements.
• Perform field equipment testing and verification at field sites.
