Tighe & Bond in Shelton, CT or Middletown, CT is seeking an Entry Level Staff Engineer to join the Transportation and Traffic Design Team and contribute to infrastructure projects across the Northeast.

You will perform traffic analysis, assist with signal timing, and prepare design documents while collaborating with road, drainage, and environmental teams in a hybrid office setting that supports your growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• FE Exam passed and EIT certification, or plan by June 2027.
• Familiarity with Synchro, HCS or similar traffic tools.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Interest in PE license and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Perform traffic analysis and modeling using Synchro and SimTraffic.
• Assist in development of traffic signal timing plans and intersection concepts.
• Support preparation of traffic engineering plans, cost estimates, and design documentation.
• Review and analyze traffic data including volumes, crash history, and speed studies.
• Draft technical memoranda, traffic studies, and feasibility reports for state and municipal clients.
• Assist with CTDOT encroachment permits and Traffic Management Plans.
• Participate in field investigations and site visits to observe traffic operations.
