W D Wright Contracting Inc in Durham, NC is seeking a Traffic Controller to support our construction crews. This entry-level role offers on-the-job training, safety-focused work, and opportunities to learn traffic control procedures.

Responsibilities include setting up work zones, directing traffic, wearing PPE, and complying with ATSSA/DOT standards. Must be 18+, ready for all weather, and able to lift up to 50 pounds; prior experience is not required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Be able to stand for entire shift and lift up to 50 pounds.
• No experience required for this entry-level role.

Responsibilities

• Set up, maintain, and remove temporary work zones with signs and cones.
• Load/unload work zone equipment at the job site.
• Complete paperwork in a timely manner before leaving the site.
• Wear proper PPE according to Wright policy.
• Ensure company vehicles are clean and safe; report issues.
• Review start time and job site address as provided by office.
• Follow Wright safety manual and employee handbook.
• Report to a Field Supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned.
