Job summary

WD Wright Contracting is seeking a Traffic Controller in Greensboro, NC to manage traffic flow around active construction zones and keep workers safe. You will set up and remove work zones, place warning devices, and coordinate with the team to prevent vehicle and pedestrian interference.

Training is provided on the Wright Way quality and safety standards, and candidates must obtain basic traffic safety certification through company classes. Entry-level availability with weekly pay and overtime.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.
• Must have a smartphone with internet access for timekeeping and communication to receive work schedule.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Be able to work in all weather conditions and tolerate varying climates of heat, cold, and rain.
• Pass a drug screen prior to employment and maintain a drug free status.
• Be able to stand throughout your shift; hand and arm movement required.

Responsibilities

• Setup, maintain, and remove temporary work zones including warning signs, traffic cones, and rumble strips according to ATSSA and DOT regulations
• Load and unload work zone equipment to and from the company vehicle at the job site
• Complete and submit all necessary paperwork in a timely manner before leaving the last job site
• Wear and maintain proper PPE in accordance with Wright specific policy
• Ensure that company vehicles are kept clean and orderly and inform management of any safety concerns or vehicle problems
• Review start time and address of job site or meeting location as established and sent by office scheduler via company app
• Read and understand Wright safety manual and employee handbook
• Reports directly to a Field Supervisor
• Other job duties as assigned
