Job summary

WD Wright Contracting is seeking a Traffic Controller in Durham, NC. This entry-level position requires no prior experience, offers on-the-job training, weekly pay, overtime, and a starting wage of $14.50 per hour.

You will help create safe work zones and direct traffic around construction sites. Responsibilities include setting up signs and cones, maintaining safe zones, completing paperwork, and complying with ATSSA/DOT safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.
• Must have a smartphone with internet access for timekeeping and communication.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Be able to work in all weather conditions.
• Pass a drug screen prior to employment.
• Be able to lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Setup, maintain, and remove temporary work zones including warning signs, traffic cones, and rumble strips according to ATSSA and DOT regulations.
• Load and unload work zone equipment to and from the company vehicle at the job site.
• Complete and submit all necessary paperwork in a timely manner before leaving the last job site.
• Wear and maintain proper PPE in accordance with Wright specific policy.
• Ensure that company vehicles are kept clean and orderly and inform management of any safety concerns or vehicle problems.
• Review start time and address of job site or meeting location as established and sent by office scheduler.
• Read and understand Wright safety manual and employee handbook.
• Reports directly to a Field Supervisor.
• Other job duties as assigned.
