Job summary

AutoNation, a leading automotive retailer, is hiring a Service Technician in Hayward, CA. You will diagnose, repair, and service vehicles, following dealership standards and warranty procedures.

The role emphasizes ongoing training, use of OEM tools, and safe operation of power and hand tools. The position requires a high school diploma, valid driver's license, and mechanical aptitude; ASE certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• ASE certification or successful completion of pre-employment test preferred.
• Technical or trade school degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Stay current in diagnostic methods and service techniques.
• Perform repair work per repair orders with accuracy per standards.
• Follow factory/dealership procedures for warranty work.
• Participate in service technician trainings and certifications.
• Record cause of failure and work performed on repair orders clearly.
• Communicate with service manager and team about diagnosis and status.
• Request parts from parts department as needed.
• Adhere to safety procedures and use tools safely.
