Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Warrenville, IL is seeking an Entry-Level Structural Engineer to apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, steel and reinforced concrete design on nuclear facilities and related projects.

You will work with multi-discipline teams, prepare calculations and drawings, analyze load cases including wind and seismic, and receive mentorship; occasional travel to client sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Structural/Civil Eng or Architectural Eng with strong materials/structural design background.
• Completion of coursework in steel and concrete design.
• Knowledge of loads analysis for structural supports and design integrity.
• Understanding of structural design techniques for technical plans and drawings.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, steel and reinforced concrete design to projects.
• Prepare design calculations and develop specifications; support drawing development.
• Perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, supports, and foundations.
• Conduct loading analyses including wind and seismic.
