Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an Entry Level Structural Engineer to join our team in January 2027. You will apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, steel design, and reinforced concrete design on oil and gas facilities, under the Structural Lead’s guidance.

Responsibilities include creating calculations, developing designs and specifications, conducting wind, seismic, blast, and pressurization analyses, and coordinating with designers through design phases.

Qualifications

• This position requires a Bachelor's in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's in Civil or Structural Engineering preferred).
• A focus on the analysis of steel structures and concrete foundations and supports for new facilities, or modifications or replacements for existing facilities.
• Knowledge in writing and providing support documentation for Structural Engineering calculations.
• Technically knowledgeable of the practical application of structural engineering including analysis for structural supports, loads, and design integrity.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create calculations, document designs, and specifications for structural projects.
• Conduct structural analyses including wind, seismic, blast, and pressurization loads.
• Guide designers in structural engineering design efforts and coordinate detailing through all design phases.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve a wide range of structural engineering issues.
• Develop integrated structural designs and perform supporting calculations for planned work.
• Prepare technical specifications for structural materials.
