Job summary

Ledgent is seeking an Entry Level Staff Accountant in Fontana, CA, to support general ledger, AP, AR, and month-end close activities on a 100% on-site schedule.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance (or related field) and demonstrates accuracy, GAAP knowledge, and strong Excel skills. This temp-to-hire opportunity offers a standard M-F schedule and a clear path to permanent placement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent).
• Proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, basic formulas).
• Familiarity with Batchmaster ERP is a plus.
• Strong numerical accuracy and discretion with confidential information.

Responsibilities

• General Ledger & Bookkeeping: Assist in maintaining accurate general ledger accounts and post routine journal entries.
• Accounts Payable (AP): Process vendor invoices, match purchase orders, verify approvals, and prepare weekly payment batches.
• Accounts Receivable (AR): Generate and issue customer invoices, record incoming payments, and assist with soft collections outreach.
• Account Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations; identify and investigate discrepancies.
• Month-End Close: Support the Accounting Manager/Controller with month-end close activities, accrued expenses, and balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Audit & Compliance Support: Maintain organized financial filing systems and pull documentation for internal/external audits or tax filings as requested.
• Ad-Hoc Projects: Provide operational and numerical support on special financial projects as assigned.

  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential financial information with high discretion.
