Job summary

Ledgent Finance in Fontana, California is seeking an Entry Level Staff Accountant for 100% onsite work. The role pays $23–$27 per hour and is temp to hire. You will assist with general ledger entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close processes.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent experience) and strong Excel skills. ERP familiarity, especially Batchmaster, is a plus. Attention to detail and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining general ledger accounts and post routine journal entries.
• Process vendor invoices, match PO’s, verify approvals, and prepare weekly payments.
• Generate and issue customer invoices, record payments, and assist with collections.
• Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations; investigate discrepancies.
• Support month-end close activities, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain organized filing for audits or tax filings; assist with special projects.

Key Responsibilities

• General Ledger & Bookkeeping: Assist in maintaining accurate general ledger accounts and post routine journal entries.
• Accounts Payable (AP): Process vendor invoices, match purchase orders, verify approvals, and prepare weekly payment batches.
• Accounts Receivable (AR): Generate and issue customer invoices, record incoming payments, and assist with soft collections outreach.
• Account Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations; identify and investigate discrepancies.
• Month-End Close: Support the Accounting Manager/Controller with month-end close activities, accrued expenses, and balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Audit & Compliance Support: Maintain organized financial filing systems and pull documentation for internal/external audits or tax filings as requested.
• Ad-Hoc Projects: Provide operational and numerical support on special financial projects as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience/associate degree).

Software Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, basic formulas).
• Familiarity with ERP software is a plus, especially Batchmaster.
