Job summary

IES Communications is seeking an entry-level Technician I - Security Systems to assist with installing security systems including Card Access, CCTV, CATV, and Intrusion Detection. You will work under experienced technicians and project leadership to build foundational skills in low-voltage installations.

This role emphasizes learning industry best practices, following installation standards, and contributing to project documentation while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6+ years of supervisory or managerial experience.
• Minimum 3+ years as Lead Communications Technician or similar role.
• Minimum 5+ years in telecommunications or related technical/construction field.
• Proficient with computer and MS Office (Word, Excel, MS Project).
• Must meet company driving standards and have project estimation ability.
• Experience using listed trade tools to install security systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation of Access Control, CCTV, CATV, and Intrusion systems.
• Pull, route, secure, and label low-voltage cabling per specs.
• Read and follow engineered drawings, floor plans, and instructions.
• Support senior technicians with device installation, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Complete project paperwork: timesheets, work orders, material transfers, change orders, tool transfers.
• Follow safety programs and maintain tools and workspace.
• Learn industry best practices and installation standards.
