Job summary

North American Rail Solutions (NARS) is seeking an entry‑level Trackman I to join our crew in Washington. This role supports construction, maintenance, and repair of railroad tracks and related infrastructure, requiring safety focus and outdoor work in varied weather.

You'll work with a crew to install, repair, and inspect track components, operate basic tools, and record activities for supervision. Willingness to travel and respond to callouts is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in railroad or heavy construction preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and work outdoors.
• Willingness to travel and stay overnight as needed.
• Follow safety protocols and PPE use.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain railroad tracks and infrastructure.
• Replace rail and ties, adjust switches, and build track sections.
• Operate manual tools and equipment.
• Inspect track components for wear and safety.
• Record work and report issues to supervisors.
• Respond to after-hours callouts for repairs.
