Job summary

North American Rail Solutions (NARS) is looking for motivated individuals for the entry-level Trackman I position in Knoxville, TN. The role involves supporting the construction, maintenance, and repair of railroad track systems. Candidates should demonstrate physical stamina, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work outdoors. You will be involved in installing and maintaining tracks, operating tools, conducting inspections, and collaborating with a team to maintain safety and efficiency on job sites. Previous experience in related fields is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain railroad tracks and related infrastructure.
  • Perform track construction and repair tasks.
  • Operate manual tools and specialized equipment.
  • Conduct visual inspections of track components.
  • Accurately record work performed and report issues.

Skills

Ability to understand and follow verbal and visual instructions
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Physical ability to lift up to 100lbs
Comfortable working at heights and in all weather extremes
Willingness and ability to travel to job sites
Respond appropriately to safety signals and warnings

Education

High School Diploma or GED preferred
