Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Englewood/Westminster, CO seeks a process engineer to join a multi-disciplinary team on multiple projects. You will develop heat and material balances, size equipment, and support design through PFDs/P&IDs.

You will participate in safety reviews, perform hydraulic calculations, assist in proposals, and help with start-up and procedures. Travel up to 20% is required.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering with a strong academic background.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills required as well as a professional demeanor.
• Excellent teamwork skills.
• Able to travel as necessary for client meetings, job site visits, start-up activities, off-site training, industry related conventions/seminars, etc. (up to 20% travel).
• This position is located in Englewood, CO or in Westminster, CO.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team for multiple projects.
• Under supervision, develop heat and material balance for new projects using process simulation tools and prepare equipment data sheets.
• Perform detailed hydraulic calculations to determine pipe sizes and valve sizing.
• Perform PSV sizing and documentation with supervision.
• Develop Design Basis for new projects.
• Develop Process Control Narrative and support Cause & Effect documents.
• Create PFDs and P&IDs.
• Participate in safety reviews (HAZOP/PHAs) and PSM activities.
• Support proposals and staffing plans with Process Engineering Manager.
• Support construction, commissioning, start-up, and draft operating procedures.
