Job summary

The State of Arkansas seeks a Community Supervision Officer I to supervise probationers and parolees under the Area 1 program in Madison County, Huntsville. You will manage caseloads, verify employment, conduct visits, and develop case plans to promote rehabilitation and public safety.

This entry-level role emphasizes risk assessment, reporting, and coordination with law enforcement, courts, and service providers, with training provided and opportunities for advancement within the Community

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, public administration, psychology, social work, or related field is required, OR Two years of social services, human services, corrections, or law enforcement experience.
Possess a Valid Driver’s License and be eligible for certification as a specialized police officer as established by ACA 12-9-106.

Responsibilities

Supervise a caseload of low- to moderate-risk probationers and parolees.
Conduct routine office visits, home visits, and employment verifications.
Develop individualized case plans addressing risks, needs, and rehabilitation goals.
Monitor compliance with court-ordered conditions and programs.
Perform random drug and alcohol screenings and report results.
Investigate and document violations of probation or parole conditions.
Prepare reports for court proceedings and interagency meetings.
