Job summary

Guidant Power is seeking an entry-level Electrical Engineer to support power distribution projects across multiple clients. You will assist Project Engineers with models, calculations, drawings, and field data collection, building core skills under senior engineers and licensed PEs.

Responsibilities include developing one-line diagrams, performing short circuit calculations, and participating in internal training on power systems and electrical safety.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited program (power coursework preferred).
• Zero to two years of experience; internships/co-ops in power/industrial settings count.
• FE exam passed or scheduled preferred.
• Exposure to ETAP/SKM PowerTools/EasyPower and AutoCAD is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Engineers on power distribution projects for new installations and retrofits.
• Build and update power system models in ETAP/SKM/EasyPower.
• Perform short circuit, protective device coordination, and arc flash calculations per IEEE 1584 and NFPA 70E.
• Travel to client facilities to collect data and verify one-line diagrams (5-15% travel).
• Create/revise one-line diagrams, schematics, and drawings in AutoCAD.
• Draft study reports and arc flash labels for senior review.
