Job summary

Guidant Power in Colorado Springs, CO, is seeking an entry-level electrical engineer to support power distribution projects for multiple clients. You will assist project engineers with models, calculations, drawings, and field data collection from day one, under supervision, with a clear path toward independent responsibility.

You will gain hands-on experience in ETAP/SKM/EasyPower and AutoCAD, perform short-circuit and arc-flash studies, and contribute to reports and labels while advancing

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering from ABET accredited program.
• Zero to two years of experience; internships/co-ops count.
• FE exam passed or scheduled.
• Exposure to ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or EasyPower is a plus.
• Exposure to AutoCAD is a plus.
• Solid grasp of three phase power fundamentals: per unit analysis, fault calculations, transformer and motor basics
• Clear written and verbal communication and the discipline to document your work
• Willingness to work in industrial environments and follow site safety requirements
• Eligible to work in the U.S. and pass client background checks

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering and design support on new installation and retrofit projects: models, calculations, drawings, deliverable preparation.
• Build and update power system models in ETAP, SKM PowerTools, and EasyPower under supervision.
• Perform short circuit, protective device coordination, and arc flash calculations per IEEE 1584 and NFPA 70E.
• Travel to client facilities to collect equipment data and verify one line accuracy (5-15% travel).
• Create and revise one line diagrams, schematics, and design drawings in AutoCAD.
• Draft study reports and arc flash labels for senior review.
• Participate in internal training on power system fundamentals, study methodology, and electrical safety
