Job summary

Syska Hennessy Group in New York is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineering Graduate specializing in Plumbing/Fire Protection to join our EDT program. You will support senior engineers on a range of MEP projects and begin learning with hands-on design and drafting experience.

The role emphasizes teamwork, mentorship, and professional growth, with exposure to CAD/BIM training, field visits, and a path to becoming a versatile engineering leader within a global firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical engineering is required.
• Graduation date: Winter 2026 / Spring or Summer 2027 expected.
• E.I.T. or FE preferred.
• Previous engineering internship is a plus.
• Knowledge of MEP AutoCAD; REVIT experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create basic designs under the direction of the senior engineer and/or senior designer.
• Learn drawing organization and company standards.
• Perform CAD/BIM-drafting for a variety of projects and project sizes.
• Coordinate with the designs of other trades under guidance of senior staff.
• Support design and engineering efforts for new installations, retrofits, replacements, upgrades.
• Take ownership of completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of work assignments.
• Assist engineers with field investigations and site visits for coordination meetings.
• Participate in the Engineering Development Program training sessions.
• Attend EDT program continuing education seminars.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical engineering

Graduation date: Winter 2026 / Spring or Summer 2027
