Job summary

Syska Hennessy Group in New York is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineer with a focus on Plumbing/Fire Protection. You will support engineering teams, learn from senior staff, and contribute to innovative designs for diverse projects.

The role emphasizes CAD/BIM drafting, collaboration, and development through the Engineer Development Program (EDT). A Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering and EIT/FE consideration are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Graduation Winter 2026, Spring or Summer 2027.
• MEP AutoCAD knowledge and REVIT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create basic designs under the direction of the senior engineer or senior designer.
• Learn drawing organization and company standards.
• Perform CAD/BIM-drafting for projects of varying sizes.
• Coordinate with other trades under guidance of senior staff.
• Support design and engineering for new installations, retrofits, replacements, upgrades.
• Take ownership of completeness, accuracy and timeliness of work.
• Assist engineers with field investigations and site visits.
• Attend EDT program trainings and related activities.
• Participate in Engineer Development Program seminars.
