Job summary

Syska Hennessy Group in Chicago invites graduates to join as an entry level Mechanical Engineering Graduate specializing in Plumbing/Fire Protection. You will learn from senior engineers and contribute to design, drafting, and project coordination in a collaborative environment.

As part of the Engineering Development Program, you’ll gain hands-on experience with CAD/BIM tools, MEP systems, and design calculations while supporting field investigations and client satisfaction on diverse projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university and graduation Winter 2026 or Spring/Summer 2027.
• E.I.T. or FE preferred.
• Knowledge of MEP AutoCAD; REVIT experience is a plus.
• Proficient in design and calculation software; MS Office Suite.
• Previous engineering internship is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create basic designs under the direction of the senior engineer and/or senior designer.
• Learn drawing organization and company standards.
• Perform CAD/BIM drafting for varied projects and sizes.
• Coordinate with other trades under guidance of senior staff.
• Support design and engineering for new installations, retrofits, and upgrades.
• Take ownership of completeness and timeliness of work assignments.
• Assist engineers with field investigations and site visits.
• Participate in EDT program training sessions and activities.
