Job summary

Syska Hennessy Group in Chicago is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineering Graduate specializing in Plumbing/Fire Protection. You will support engineering teams, learn from senior staff, and contribute to innovative, collaborative projects.

The role offers exposure to CAD/BIM drafting, coordination with multiple trades, and participation in the Engineer Development Training program with ongoing seminars and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical engineering with grad date Winter 2026 to Summer 2027.
• Previous engineering internship, a plus.
• Knowledge of the latest version of MEP AutoCAD; REVIT experience is a plus.
• Proficient in design and calculation software; MS Office Suite.
• E.I.T. or FE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create basic designs under the direction of the senior engineer and/or senior designer.
• Learn drawing organization and company standards.
• Perform CAD/BIM-drafting for a variety of projects and project sizes.
• Coordinate with the designs of other trades under guidance of senior staff.
• Support design and engineering efforts for systems for new installations, retrofits, replacements, and upgrades.
• Take ownership of completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of the work assignments.
• Assist engineers with field investigations and construction site visits to observe and attend project coordination meetings.
• Participate and regularly attend the EDT program training sessions and support activities that are part of the EDT program.
• Attend our Engineering Development Program continuing education seminars on technical and professional enhancing topics.
