Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for the PCA Float Pool in Worcester, MA. This non-exempt role covers a 32-hour weekly schedule, day shift, including holidays and alternating weekends.

The offered pay range is $18.92 to $25.52 per hour, with final offers aligned to experience and internal equity. The PCA will support RNs with patient observation, vital signs, daily living activities, and safety procedures in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Clear, timely communication with RNs and team.
• Assist with patient observation and safety.
• Provide daily living activities support (hygiene, mobility, meals).
• Perform EKGs, POC tests, and specimen preparation.

Responsibilities

• Provide clear, timely communication to the RN regarding patient observations.
• Maintain constant observation of high-risk patients as assigned.
• Assist in maintaining a safe environment and apply de-escalation techniques as trained.
• Support patients with daily living activities and mobility.
• Assist with equipment handling and basic patient care tasks.
