Job summary

UVA Health is recruiting a Patient Care Technician to provide direct, age-specific care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practitioner across UVA Health facilities.

You will monitor patient conditions, assist with personal hygiene and safety, maintain a clean and stocked environment, and contribute to the patient experience while upholding UVA Health policies and ASPIRE values.

Qualifications

• AHA BLS certification required; for hires before May 11, 2026, certification may be waived if relevant experience.
• Virginia CNA/EMT/LPN or NCCT PCT certification or nursing program graduate is acceptable as minimum qualification.
• Currently enrolled student nurses who have completed clinical experience may qualify.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, age-specific patient care under the supervision of an RN or licensed practitioner.
• Monitor patient conditions and report updates to the health care team.
• Maintain safe, clean, stocked clinical location to support patient care.
• Obtain and record patient information throughout the plan of care.
• Attend mandatory in-services and training.
• Demonstrate ASPIRE Values and teamwork in care delivery.
• Assist in specimen collection for diagnostics as needed.
• Follow UVA Health policies in daily duties.
