Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC in Matthews, NC seeks an Overhead Distribution C Lineperson to install and repair overhead power systems, including poles, cables and equipment. Entry-level position with safety and quality focus, with potential travel for storm work as required.

Responsibilities include setting poles, stringing wire, sagging, transformer work, and communicating with property owners while maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must have 1–2 years of experience in electrical power line construction.
• Strong communication skills, written and spoken.
• Ability to work around heavy equipment and in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Install transformers, insulators, crossarms, switches and switchgear.
• Set poles, string overhead wire and perform sagging techniques.
• Troubleshoot primary and secondary systems and replace fuses.
• Communicate work details to property owners and manage safety per standards.
• Inspect and maintain tools, equipment and company gear daily.
• Perform new construction, maintenance or repair on energized/ de-energized lines.
